The non-prescription medical preparation Minoxidil 5% acts on the hair follicle, stops the follicle from dying and stimulates the release of keratin. Products with minoxidil are especially effective if the hair loss has recently started and the foci have not fully spread. Studies have shown that in more than 50 % users of this product, hair loss stops and new hair starts to grow, however, after stopping use, the hair starts to fall out again. Such a preparation should be used twice a day for an unlimited period of time. Minoxidil products are not recommended for people with high blood pressure.

Make sure your hair and scalp are dry before applying Minoxidil 5% solution topically. Adults aged 18-65 years apply 1 ml of Minoxidil 5% solution no more than twice a day, on the area of the scalp where the hair has fallen out and rub into the scalp. The total dose should not exceed 2 ml. If the solution is applied with the help of the fingertips, the hands should be thoroughly washed afterwards. The maximum daily dose of minoxidil is 2 ml. Taking a higher dose or more often will not achieve the desired improvement sooner.
